The other day I looked up the word "marital" on dictionary.com. Above the definition were some advertisements. The top ad was from reliabledivorce.com.
And the dictionary example phrase was "marital discord."
The next word I looked up was harmony, and it didn't even mention marriage.

You make those sound like antonyms.
Marital harmony is possible. If you're going to get married, marry your best friend... someone you enjoy being with and is like-minded in all aspects (intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, financially, etc)... someone you can spend weeks on vacation with and never get tired or irritated with.
Marry your best friend.
